the death pictures are pretty neat, but usually they are taken at a moment where there's very strong bloomy effects on the screen, so i find, that often the picture is too bright to see much of anything. additionally, it would be cool if the dots from the graph that shows how high you got would fade out after a few seconds or something. one last thing: when you mouse-over one of those dots and hit a button, you get back to the main menu, but the name + height + death cause text stays under the menu.

Youhou ! Skipable game over screen. But you really need a rss, or a more active twitter account, I only found there was a new beta version by "accident".

Is there a pause button?
Quazi said:
Press Alt to pause the game
Quazi said:
Sorry, my mistake. That doesn't actually work!

Please, please add gamepad support!
Nick said:
Hey, great to see an update already! Please add a mute option for the next one, even just for the music (not that there's anything wrong with it),so we can play while listening to other stuff. Pretty please?

Loving the dogs barking, makes the tower even more dangerous and actually there. Skipping the game over screen also helps. I have to say that I don't like that bees can sting you the first time they come in contact with you, and same with them levels were the bees are flying everywhere... but then again, it's a hard game. Still wanting custom controls, but for now I have GRebuild which has no hassle what-so-ever.

Can anyone tell me if he increased the climbing speed or changed the controls yet? (maybe they were part of the "adds additional polishing to many things" or "fixes a number of bugs ")

I'd like to see context sensitive help. For example something that tells you that you need to press down and hold shift to get the red berries. Or the fact that falling 5 blocks or more kills you. That kind of thing. Loving the game by the way.
Necro said:
If you buy a health potion, but you're full, you lose the berries and don't get the potion. Was this intentional or an oversight?
Davioware said:
You can't buy a revival potion if you already have one, I've tested this before. The witch just says the same thing if you buy one: "you can only carry a single revive potion". You didn't have one if you were able to buy.
Lazarhead said:
I wanna play so hard...
Necro said:
It appears you are correct. I guess I didn't have as many berries as I thought I did, then. Eh, oh well. Thanks for taking the time to reply, at-least, and for making such an awesome game. c:

Guys, whatever you do, DON'T stack 5 jump berries, take my word for it! Also, is there any difference between boots and gold greaves besides different moving speed?

The game looks really great! Just preordered it. How long does the automated mail take? I've been waiting for roughly 20 minutes now, and I'm not sure if it just takes time or if something went wrong.
jaronimoe said:
hey! I would love to buy your game, but I hate paypal - do you consider bringing Towerclimb to desura?
Lucas said:
I too would like to avoid using Paypal.
Cory said:
Paypal seems to be having some serious issues, perhaps from RPS? Any ETA on when I'll be able to buy this?
Davioware said:
It should be working now.
John said:
Game looks great, but my "good" computer is offline. Any chance of offline validation? Thanks
John said:
Or at least warn people before they buy it...damn the game looks great but my shitty netbook can barely run it! :(

Just wanted to comment on how much I've been enjoying the game. I bought it several days ago and it's one of the best indie games I've ever bought (let alone at $5!). Still haven't come close to beating it but knowing that the final version will have twice the content makes this one hell of a valued purchase in my opinion. Great atmospheric soundtrack (fits the mood perfectly and is reminiscent of Super Metroid), great animation and graphic style and gameplay that hasn't gotten old yet with a high skill ceiling. Thanks Davioware, I eagerly look forward to future versions and wish you good luck in your future developments. Hopefully this game will gain enough popularity for you to be able to sell it on platforms like Steam or Desura. I'll be sure to spread the word.

Loving this game so far! :) I was wondering if you have plans for a linux or mac release as well?
Recs said:
bought the game as well, looks (and plays) promising. I also hope for a linux build and/or desura release. I'd probably point at the interface/menus/tutorial as some of the areas that need more improvement other than joypad support. keep up the good work.

Great game, well worth the money. Is there a way we can submit bugs to you, email or something?

You can email me at: davioware@davioware.com

well dude, I bought your game. I changed some of the names in the config files, but they didn't show up in game : / I guess my top desired additions to this game would be: 1. Gamepad support 2. Taller tower 3. More random events than the ever popular rising lava I could go on, but those are my top 3. All that being said, this game already kicks serious ass. Great job Davioware.
Matt said:
That secret chest item wouldn't be a damned dog, would it? Cause that sure surprised the hell out of me (and resulted in death). :/ Loving the updates otherwise.
davioware said:
@Matt No, it's not a dog, haha. There was a dog under the chest that you didn't see, and it jumped right at the moment you opened the chest. Only explanation.
Matt said:
A humble dog did a ninja on me? The agony and shame...
JermEx said:
PS. The golden greaves only give extra speed? That is terrible, I throw them away immediately, extra speed is a express ticket to hell in this game. They should give extra jump hight too, then they would be worth the risk. BTW, I think your game could get great exposure if you did up the website a lil' bit.

Hey Davio could we get a water themed shortcut level? Just a suggestion. I think that would be cool. You could try to out swim a giant fish or something
Paul said:
I'm getting a new desktop coming week.. If I activate Tower Climb from this old computer, will I be able to activate it again on my new one?
Davioware said:
@Paul Yes, You can activate the game on as many computers as you have. Don't worry about it. :D

Great! I've been playing it a bit on this crappy PC, and it usually runs it a little slow, but the game is a lot of fun.. Reeeally needs controller support soon, though, because keyboard doesn't work so well for me. Also, I've noticed, having a tendency to always hold the shift button, that I'm not able to move left and right while jumping after climbing,, while also holding shift,.... or something.. Maybe it's just me, but I think the keyboard can only register so many button presses at the same time? Anyway, awesome game! My suggestion is to just add a huge variety of content. More items, enemies, events, structures/objects in the tower, etc.. It's so good, I know having more is the next best thing. How about a rope item that you could drop off a ledge to help you access lower areas with ease (and climb back up). The rope could only be used once per rope item pickup, though, and it would remain where you used it. Hm, also, maybe a rare area/event, could be a pitch black cave with just a ring of light around your character.. You'd have to be extra careful when moving about, but you could also add a new item type to aid you here, be it a lantern you could pick up and take with you, luminescent mushrooms you could collect, then throw out to light up a larger area, or maybe fireflies could buzz around slowly in this type of environment, helping you to see the whole stage. More treasure chest items, stat upgrades... Hah, yeah, I just want to see what else you can throw in! Keep at it :)

I just bought this game a couple days ago and I have to say I really enjoy it. However, there's one major problem I hope you will fix in a future patch. When I enter the ascension section, there will be times where I will go to a new room, then immediately die because there are poison spores right on top of the entrance. Now I don't mind dying, but when I die because of a flaw in the level design than it becomes a problem. Otherwise, this is a really good game. I've clocked a lot of time into it and the climb never gets old.

You should really setup a messageboard on your site. We should start a Davioware community.

I had a very strange bug a few seconds ago: I was in the path of the exiles: Fatal Flight. I hovered to the top of the stage, the door was in the top left-handed corner, so you could only approach it from the right side. While I still was on the pod, I flew to the left towards the door, and when I was close enough to enter, I jumped from the pod, hit my head at the ceiling and pressed Up to enter the door at the same time. This made me teleport OUTSIDE of the tower. No chance to get back inside. I got a screenshot if you wanna see it^^

Hello there - just bought the game, a couple of suggestions: #1 The lava really shouldn't appear until a player has climbed >X feet (500?) ~ as a new player, of the games I've started 50% have had the rising lava, and as I've just started, it's instant death at maybe 2 feet #2 Climbing the outer walls. Am I supposed to be able to do this? At the moment, my most successful climb (a whole 380 odd feet) was done by... just climbing the outside wall. This seems a little counter-intuitive #3 Chests. I can pick them up & throw them... but no-where (manual or otherwise) does it tell me how to open them! #4 I'm looking forward to meeting all the various enemies (so far: dogs and wasps) ~ it'd be great though if you die to something it was added to a "bestiary" page that listed them all! #5 Probably heard this one before - is there a way to remap keys? Arrow keys on a laptop aren't the greatest option. Anyhow, kudos for this little gem, and I wish you the best!
davioware said:
You can sometimes climb on the outside wall for a while and progress, it's normal. However, this is usually the worst option because you miss out on items which you WILL need later on, and it's slow. The boxes you found on the ground aren't chests, but crates. They don't contain items, but have other uses.

***SPOILERS... probably*** How do you defeat the witch on 19F? Every time I put an orb on the block, it turns green and then she kills me. I don't really make it that far often enough to try out any methods...
mikey said:
finally beat it. this game is crazy.

Really great game! It's aching for joypad support, I used joy2key but it's a pain. Anyway really fun, I bought it after a recommendation and I'll recommend it to others
LengthOfACrab said:
Welp, I just read pad support is coming. I'll shut my mouf.

Paid full price for this as the game is definitely worth every penny. Absolutely gorgeous. The indie / retro scene is just getting better and better but every so often a real gem comes along... and TowerClimb is no exception. Thank you Davioware. Thank you.
